Sanlam Bloemfontein

My sister passed away and on the 3rd August my brother in law went to Sanlam Bloemfontein to submit a claim. When they got there they were assisted by a lady named Tumi. Whom advised that they needed a policy number but will anyways help with the ID number of the deceased as though she was doing a favor. Please note that I am a manager for a Bank and I cannot tell u how many people we are able to assist with just an ID number as it automatically picks up their policy numbers. The funeral is on the 7/08/2020 and till today the Payment has not reflected. We are advised that the department that deals with funeral claims is closed due to covid 19. To my surprise how does a company a big as Sanlam give my brother in law such an outrageous response. This is by far the worst service and how do we bury the deceased who is my sister? Imagine going through this when u supposed to be grieving?

Please note the funeral is tomorrow and I have spent literally over R300 trying to get assistance from Sanlam Bloemfontein. I have been taken from pillar to post and still don’t know what the problem is. We regret taking up anything with Sanlam. I have been given this number *** to call and find out what the delay is myself and I was advised that they don’t deal with funeral group schemes. I have a life cover with Sanlam and such services have shown me that I need to move from this company. How on earth does a whole office that deals with funerals close due to covid case- I mean there has to be another way clients can claim and get assisted. So now we must wait till the claims department is back at the office? I don’t believe this company

Dear Lerato

We have enquired with most of our departments and we cannot find any plans with the ID number you provided. Kindly send us the policy number or documentation that gives the contact number of the department administering the funeral policy. Please note that we have various departments within Sanlam and we just require more information to assist us in our search.

Kind regards,
