Sanlam, being black does not mean we stupid

So I changed jobs which resulted in my pay date changing. I called Sanlam today to change the debit order date and I was not happy with the options the lady was giving me cause both resulted in me paying double (either double deductions or one deduction plus an EFT). As we (me and the consultant Ms January) could not reach an agreement as to which option I will take as I was not happy with both, she asked if she could get me someone who speaks my language to explain in my language exactly what she is saying.

The issue was not that I did not understand her, the issue is that I was not happy with the options she presented to me, now was it necessary to insult me like that. Is it because I am black/African that I would be labeled as not understanding English cause I am not happy with the options being granted. What exactly led her to thinking that I do not understand English? I have been with Sanlam since January 2016 using English as a communication language and today I am being insulted.

It defiantly sounds like Sanlam (she represents Sanlam as a company) is saying I am illiterate cause I am black.
