Provident Fund Claim

I am writing to formally report my disappointment and frustration regarding the delay in processing my provident fund claim.

On 7 January 2024, I submitted my application for my provident fund withdrawal and was informed that the process would take 10 weeks. However, by the 10th week (7 March 2024), I had not received any payment or update regarding my claim.

Upon following up with my former branch, I was advised to contact Ernest Muntu Ntaba from HR, as he is responsible for handling these matters. Despite numerous attempts to call, text, and even send WhatsApp messages over the course of two weeks, I received no response from him.

Frustrated with the lack of communication, I then contacted the retirement department on 12 March 2024, only to be told that the process actually takes 30 days instead of 10 weeks. Furthermore, I was informed that my claim was never issued, meaning I have to restart the waiting process despite already waiting for 10 weeks.

This level of inefficiency, lack of communication, and unprofessionalism from the HR department is unacceptable. Not only have I faced unnecessary delays, but I have also been left without any proper feedback or assistance.

I kindly request immediate action to process my claim without further delays. Additionally, I expect a written explanation regarding why my claim was not issued in the first place and why HR has failed to provide timely responses.

Should this matter not be resolved urgently, I will be left with no choice but to escalate it further, including lodging a complaint with the Pension Funds Adjudicator (PFA) or seeking legal intervention.

I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and expect a prompt response. Please provide me with an update ASAP.

Sincerely Keitumetse Mabalane
