Pointless Nomination

My late ex-husband named me as Nominee in a fund held by Sanlam. Upon his passing I submitted the relevant documents but was told I would not be considered. They then requested our two children's documents. Our children have now been advised that his two adult sisters will inherit this money. There is not a lot of money involved but firstly how was I never considered when he left my name on the documents and how are his children not considered? His children are adults, my daughter is a housewife. How are his sisters more important than his children? What is the point of naming a nominee if the Board of Trustees will overturn it anyway? Maybe it was his way of making up a tiny bit for previous injustice? Nevertheless, thank you Sanlam for ensuring that none of my family or friends ever do business with you.
