Pathetic service when it's time to disinvest from them

I have been an investor with Sanlam for a long time already. I have now decided to switch over to Discovery due to me getting much better benefits there.

At the.time I had joined Sanlam many years ago, I was amazed at the speed with which they could open up investment accounts and were very efficient to receive, and invest my funds in lieu of my preservation fund.

Now, when I have decided to shift my Presentation Fund to Discovery, they drag their feet. It's been nearly 2 weeks ago that my new broker has contacted them regarding transfer of my preservation fund, and till now, they still hang onto my funds, with no indication as to when they will in fact hand over to Discovery.

In hindsight, I am very happy that I realised sooner, rather than later about how slow this company is when it comes to letting their investors leave. It begs the question: are they so desperate to earn that final bit of interest they generate off my funds? Truly pathetic. And it also begs the question: how slow would they be to pay out if or when the time would come to claim in the event of a death, disability, etc? I personally will never deal with them again. .
