I have a Sanlam loan running for a number of years now, at around R2350 per month. My wife lost her job last year around June, but we have been battling on. She still does not have a job yet, but I managed to find a way to repay outstanding debts in full. When the money came through, I called Sanlam Direct Axis in Cape town on *** for a settlement amount. I spoke to a woman by the name of Aneesha Abrahams, who is their Accounts Department senior, so I believe. She informed me that the settlement amount was R53610.90 and had to pay this by 2.00pm on 24/03/2015, which I did, and send her a receipt on same day. However, the following day, 25th March I get an SMS saying that if I settle my outstanding loan by end March I would need to pay only R41835, a saving of R17928 !. How is this possible? You have an outstanding loan, they give you a settlement figure, then after you pay that, you get communication from them that you can save R17928 if you settle end of March? But it is paid up already on 24th? I am so annoyed about this and being cheated out of like R11000. Our paid up RA's are with Sanlam, but I will move it somewhere else, as I have not yet come across deceit like this
