Misleading insurance **********

In July of 2019 I decided to open an investment plan with sanlam Ladysmith to save up for rainy days, I enquired about investment plans since I wanted a short term plan of up to 5 years and have the option to withdraw my money if I needed it for emergencies. The agent in question suggested I take a 10 year plan that would be ripe in 5years and I could withdraw partially from it if I needed to. I did take that option.

In 2020 during the covid pandemic I requested a R1000 partial withdrawal and indeed it was granted. In 2021 still in the covid period and need money, so I requested another partial withdrawal but was told I was eligible for one until 5 years passes. I even enquired about cancelling the investment and being charged a penalty but no they declined.

In 2022 September I again pleaded with sanlam at their Embassy building offices in Durban to assist as I needed the funds for supporting my family as we just went through a rough patch with covid they still insist that I will receive the funds in 2024 September.

My gripe with Sanlam is that their agent misled me into thinking I could access the funds when I needed to and that's why I agreed to take the policy, couldn't they just out of sympathy after I told them about my ordeal grant the cancellation and charge me a penalty? I am contemplating suicide as we speak since I cannot provide for my family while Sanlam sits with my hard earned cash.

Should I take my own life or anything of that sort I will place the blame on them.
