I recently had the misfortune of my ID being used for a *****ulent Sanlam Credit Card which is administered by RCS. RCS was advised around the 11 June 2023 that there were *****ulent applications - i was asked to provide an affidavit and certified copy of my ID which was provided to them on the 26 June at hwich date i registered my ID number with the SAFPS. Nothwithstanding the affidavit and SAFPS registration RCS still approved and the *****ulent Sanlam Credit Card. I received a call from RCS on the 22 July to confirm whether i had app**** for the Sanlam Credit Card and i advised them that it was *****ulent. Imagine my surpirse when on the29th July a debit of R5000 went off my account for the same credit card. I reversed this debit order and this has now affected my credit rating. I have been in contact with RCS since then and have made numerous calls and spoken to numerous people and was promised that this would be taken care. On the 11 August i was advised in the writing that RCS had concluded their investigations and that the account is *****ulent and that they will have the bureaus updated and remove same and the other RCS enquiries as well. This did not happen and i was advised by RCS again on the 31st August that they will have the bureaus updated. To date this has not happened and my credit record remains impaired due to a failure on RCSs part.
