Is Safrican a ****????

I am disgusted by zero customer service and 'I dont care ' attitude from Safrican. I had taken a funeral cover for my disabled sister in 2017 and during Covid the premiums were automatically increased by 100% and were never communicated to me, In that period, I accepted the 100% increase and continued with the policy. On the 22December 2023 as I was on leave and going through my bank statements, I noticed that from October there has not been any debits for this policy and I called Safrican and asked to speak with the Credit collectors and could not get any one in the department. I then called again on the 28th December , only to be told that the policy lapsed in 2021. I then pushed back on that as I knew debit orders have been running from my account which the latest I know off the record was in July/august 2023. I was then asked to submit proof for debits that took pace post 2021, which I submitted the last 3months of the premiums dated 2023. The response from Safrican was that the policy had lapsed. There was no timeline on when it had lapsed and there was no suggestion on reinstatement. I asked for reinstatement and the timeline when the cancellation was actioned as they initially said it was 2021 and I submitted proof that post 2021 until late 2023 the debit order has been running and besides, if the policy is to be cancelled, is it not the insurance company's responsibility to communicate that?? When I asked these questions then I was ghosted and no response was received from Safrican.

If there is no reinstatement for a policy that is almost 10years old , then I demand all my payments to be paid back. We take insurance for our people so we can send them off in dignity, while Safican takes this as a commercial event for them to meet their financial targets.

I am disgusted beyond measure!!!!! If my policy lapsed in 2021, then who has been collecting all these premiums between 2021 and 2023? Whose bank have they been going to?
