I submitted forms for withdrawal on my pension fund on the 11th of October, received an auto reply that states that the turnaround time for processing my request is 4 to 6 weeks. I called them today to confirm that the money will be paid into my account this week and am told that it will be processed the following week, which we’ll be the seventh week. I would like to understand why I have to wait for the very last week for my funds to be paid, surely if all the documents submitted are in order, the processing of my request should be done as soon as possible. The other thing is how do people work with such large amounts of money when they can’t even calculate the most simple thing which is the number of weeks on the calendar,I left my employment on the 18th of October which was on a Friday, I’m assuming the 1st week of the turnaround time is the following Monday and not the Monday of the second week. Truly I’m amazed at the level of incompetence of the sanlam employees.
