Funeral Claim Rejected

I took out additional family funeral cover for my mother in law in April this year (Please note that i'm not married but engaged to her daughter) She sadly passed away and I registered a claim for the funeral cover.

I sent all required documents - Regretfully I received communication stating that my claim is rejected due to the fact that i'm not married to my late mother inlaw's daughter.

I would like to raise my disappointment and frustrations on the matter due to the following facts.

1. When I took out the policy no one informed me that I cannot take out cover for my mother in law due to the fact that i'm not married yet. 2. No document or policy wording were given to me in order to better understand the policy and what i'm covered for otherwise I would have removed my mother in law from my policy 3. I have been paying a premium every month 4. I was given the expectation that the people on my policy are fully covered and that gave me peace of mind knowing that if anything has to happen to them, they will be covered. 5. Even though i'm not legally married to her daughter the fact that i'm engaged and co-habiting with her daughter should give a clear explanation to the seriousness of our relationship

I am deeply deeply disappointed that my own company can do this to it's employee in such a difficult time - This policy was taken out under "Employee Benefits" but clearly i'm not benefiting anything from this.
