I am utterly disgusted in the way SANLAM has been dealing with 2 **********ly opened policies on my PERSAL and ID numbers, using a different name. I am being debited over R700 a month for policies I have not opened and have no knowledge of. I am constantly given the run around on what is happening with my case. I have been into my local branch twice, each time needing different paperwork. I have phoned numerous times, each time I’m asked to verify my details and told they don’t match what is on the system, obviously not, when it is not my name on the policy. To date, I am owed over R1000, it’s been 3 weeks since I first contacted Sanlam and I haven’t gotten any more answers. I am only told “it’s still being processed”. How is it anywhere close to legal when I have provided more than enough proof that I am not the person who opened these policies, meaning ***** is happening within the company, policies are being opened without ID documents and the victims of the ***** need to wait indefinitely for refunds. I have just about been begging for my refund since the 4th of January. 9 days ago I was told funds were being "allocated", I followed up on Monday, with no response. Keep in mind, the refund is for money that was **********ly debited, or in other words, ****** in December and January. I have tried dealing with this privately but it seems Sanlam is unable to resolve ***** happening from within their ranks.
