Does Sanlam's utter incompetence constitute *****?

Sanlam's Money Saver Credit Card is a disater - DON"T BOTHER! Seriously, give your business to someone who a) Does what you ask them to b) Has systems that work c) Pays the money they owe you in a timely fashion.

In brief, the Money Saver Credit Card lets you save 2.5% of any purchases you make and Sanlam matches it. Your then get the money back (or not) either quarterly or annualy. This functionality is supposed to be a choice, it's not. I told them not to add it to my account but thet went ahead and did it anyway. So I lived with it - HUGE MISTAKE!

It says on the back of the card that it's issued by The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and the name RCS also appears, so it's clear that Sanlam are not providing their own card and using 3rd parties.

I should have been paid approx R4,200 months ago. I was finally told to provide a bank letter which I did (to confirm my bank details). I was then faithfully promised by Sanlam's third party I would receive my money "Sometime in November" - nope, never happened.

Despite several phone calls, no money as at 17/12/24. It is obvious that Sanlam's third party are in the middle of Sanlam's utter incompetence. I asked them how much precisely I was due and they said they prefer not to say as they can't rely on the figures goven to them by Sanlam. I was told to go log into the Money Saver website to check - I wish I could but it NEVER works!

I also asked if I could remove the "money saver" aspect from the card and they "had to talk to a suprevisor" and get back to me. That would be a first, they've never gotten back to me yet despite promising to.

In summary, a complete disaster and Sanlam has money I'm due and not paying out, which seems a very familair theme with this company. I'm considering a case of *****, anyone care to join me?
