DEATH CLAIMS

My father passed away in December 2015 leaving a retirement annuity for my mother. It was explained to me that eventhough my father assigned a beneficiary that the trustees will make the final decision about who will receive what. After endless paper work from me and my mother, we waited. A decision was suppose to be made in a certain time limit. I waited longer than that, phoning almost daily in order to make sure something was happening. Finally a decision was made and tax directive was requested. Tax directive was then declined due to incorrect details of my father. After waiting almost 2 weeks for my estate administrator to fix this (who is also working for Sanlam), I could finally ask for tax directive to be requested again on Monday 6 June 2016. It was explained to me that it would take 48hours for tax directive to be finalised and I could expect payment on Friday 10 June 2016. I phoned everyday getting different feedback from different call centre agents and have not received any feedback from the consultant who is dealing with my case. After phoning again on 9 June 2016, I am being told that tax directive takes a week. I was expecting to receive my money by the end of the week. I have been very patient up to now but this is really frustrating. I am being told different stories about what is going on and have yet to hear from the consultant. This is really dissapointing service.
