My experience is one that I don't wish anyone to experience but it is also important for people to know how these companies sometimes treat us. I had a death in my family and went on to claim with sanlam while I was in the process of doing that i was informed by the consultant who had taken out my cover that i had to replace it with someone. this was of great shock to me and I told her I had no one to replace with, she said that I had to replace with someone otherwise my policy will not be paid out and that's how the company worked. I then decided to add my aunt n new born baby since I thought that was the only option left. two months after taking out this new policy we had a visit at work from some sanlam reps after their presentation I then inquired about this matter and they told me that what the other consultant told me was not true and that I had 3 options available i. e cancel the cover, replace it with someone else or let the premium go into savings. I was shocked and felt cheated, I then proceeded to cancel with the rep as i filled out a form and attached a copy of my id. I then wrote an email to sanlam regarding this matter and received a call from a lady in cape town
