Considering Sanlam Gap-DON’T

I am at a loss for words.

I don’t usually write reviews, but feel it’s needed to warn people considering taking up Sanlam Gap Cover. Do yourself a favour and don’t.

I submitted my claim on the 7th of May, and am yet to be told what the status of my claim is, whether it will be paid, or even receive any feedback whatsoever.

My claim is as submitted 40 working days ago, yet they maintain that their turnaround time for claims is 10 working days at most.

They do not reply to emails although they acknowledge it, and even say their emails are answered within 24hours, not the case.

The constantly promise to call back whenever i call(which they never do), constantly promise to provide FINAL feedback within 48hours, again this never happens.

I am at my wits-end, and thinking of getting the ombudsman involved here.

No one has contacted me as of yet. Please sort this out as a matter of urgency. What is the point of selling me on the idea of not having a hole in my pocket when it comes to medical expenses, but the you are the one creating this hole? Your service has been nothing short of appalling!

Still no one has been in contact, still being told the same empty promises. Been told this is flagged for PMB, but its a specialist shortfall that i am claiming for on a standard surgery! My next step is to get the ombudsman involved, not a threat, just the reality. Will be submitting their form this afternoon.

Still no response from anyone at Sanlam. Latest after I phoned on friday, is that because the claim is large(not close to their 600% limit), it is now at review. Absolutely shocking! If you are considering gap cover with Sanlam, dont, you will be left with a hole in your pocket and chasing shadows!!

You guys are the kings of empty promises. I called, again, phone call was 47minutes(most of the time i am put on hold). Only to be told claim is still at clinical review-after i was told on friday it is no longer there? Someone is lying. This is by far the worst service i have ever received from any company.
