Biase & *********** (claims department).

I am not happy by the way Sanlam death claims is handling the matter of paying my father’s proceeds to someone we are not sure whether he is the biological child of my father. As a family, we had only one request from Sanlam to request a DNA test from the mother of the child whom is claiming to be my sibling.

Sanlam seems to be favoring one person in this matter because he was a “dependent”. Another child whom my father supported for 19 years turned out not to be the deceased child after we requested a DNA test from her. If the DNA test had not been done for Ms Mzilikazi, she would have also shared in the proceeds just because she was a dependent. We would like the biological children of the deceased to receive what is rightfully theirs.

Ms Nomtshongwana said to me in an sms that she will only do the test if it’s requested by Sanlam or Gepf. If Kwakhanya is my brother, I don’t have a problem in him getting his father’s money. His mother is raising more suspicion if she has nothing to hide by refusing the test.

Janine David’s has not answered most of our questions on previous emails, she seems biased, *********** and lacks knowledge about this matter because there are shows on tv about paternity testing & it seems like it’s the first time she has ever dealt with such a matter.

How come your policies do not have a beneficiary? Do all your clients live up to 60?

As the Getyeza family, our request is simple, we want a negative or positive result from Ms Nomtshongwana’s son. How difficult can that be for Sanlam to organize it for us so that our minds may be at ease?
