Bereaved and Horrible service

Horrible service ever! I took out a Sanlam icover in 2018 in which I have been paying for to date without skipping a payment.

I gave birth to a stillborn on the 10th of June 2020 and reported to Sanlam about it on the 11th. My baby was buried on Friday the 12th of June 2020 using our own monies.

Firstly a consultant gave me a wrong email address to send documents. II followed up on the 12th of June on the progress, I was told they haven't received anything because of the wrong email address. I resent the documents to a new email address and got a confirmation reply.

I phoned them on Monday the 15th of June, I'm told they are still processing the claim it has been handed over to someone and I was told I'd receive payment on Wednesday since Tuesday was a public holiday.

Wednesday came by and there was nothing and I still contacted them. I spoke to Yolanda and she said it was supposed to have been paid she was surprised as to why and asked to follow up with claims she'd get back to after two hours.

I phoned after two hours and spoke to Tebogo who was such a darling. He escalated the matter and made sure he put his details so that there can be proof that he did what he was supposed to do.

Thursday the 18th of June still no payment. I then phoned in on Friday the 19th and asked to speak to a manager. They put me through to Palesa who is a team leader. She checked with claims and they said they didn't understand why it hasn't been paid.

She told me the payment would go out on Monday that's when I'll receive it. Guess what? Today is Monday the 22nd of June and still haven't received anything.

My patience has run out and I am will to post this on ywitter and send the call records to the ombudsman as well. If I have to I will take it to court and sue this company for playing with people's emotions. I have all the names of the consultants I spoke to from day 1.

What's even worse is that they said they'll pay R1000 (one thousand Rand) for the claim. I spent R3500 for my baby's funeral what am I gonna do with R1000???

Can Hello Peter please see this and everybody else putting their trust on Sanlam.
