A deeply frustrating and distressing experience,
I opened a funeral policy for my aunt and uncle eight years ago, following the advice of the consultant who assisted me at the time. They were insured under the same policy. Unfortunately, my uncle has since passed away, and I have now discovered that the policy is inactive.
For more than 10 days, I have been sending emails and making phone calls, but I have not received any assistance or clear feedback regarding the status of the policy. This has been a deeply frustrating and distressing experience, particularly given the circumstances.

17 Sept 2025, 12:53Based on your timeline, my main concern is whether I am now going to be told that the policy has lapsed, and that if I want my aunt to remain covered, a new waiting period will apply. This would be extremely unfair, given that I have been paying for this policy consistently for more than 8 years, and I had explicitly requested that the policy remain active. This situation is very concerning, as I hold multiple policies with your company. If such issues can arise despite long-term compliance and payment, it calls into question the security and reliability of continuing with Assupol. Perhaps the only positive side to this experience is that it gives me the opportunity to reconsider my options and compare them with other providers.

17 Sept 2025, 13:05When you say “as quickly as possible,” does this mean the 10 working days you referred to earlier? I ask because in your adverts, you state very clear timelines for feedback and claim processing, which raises expectations of reliability and consistency. At this point, based on my own experience and the many reviews I have come across from other policyholders, it seems the most sensible option may be to start shopping around for alternatives. I have been a loyal client for over 8 years, but the lack of timely and transparent communication makes it difficult to feel secure about the cover I am paying for.

19 Sept 2025, 16:48Dear Assupol,I note that the policy has been reinstated; however, there are still two issues that require clarification:
- The cover amount has decreased.
- The premium is significantly high. By comparison, I currently pay less for my father’s policy with FNB, which provides almost double the coverage. My father is older than my aunt, and that policy includes a cashback benefit.
