Complaint regarding poor vehicle maintenance and unsafe conditions experienced with Sani Car Hires

Dear Hellopeter Team,

I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident that occurred during my recent rental experience with Sani Car Hires. I rented a bakkie from Sani Car Hires for a move from Johannesburg to Mthatha, and encountered a serious safety issue that put my daughter and me in danger.

While driving at approximately 1 am on a stretch of road between Mt Ayliff and Mt Frere, the vehicle suddenly came to a halt due to an obstruction caused by a blanket used on the road works site. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the wheel had caught the blanket because the tire was old and had wires protruding from the inside.

This incident not only left us stranded in the middle of the night in an unfami**** area but also exposed a critical maintenance issue with the vehicle provided by Sani Car Hires. The unsafe condition of the tire could have resulted in a serious accident, putting our lives at risk.

In addition to the danger we faced, my daughter and I incurred additional expenses due to the situation. We had to pay individuals who helped us remove the wheel and the blanket, as well as those who provided us with accommodation for the night. I request compensation for these expenses incurred as a result of the negligence on the part of Sani Car Hires.

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of proper maintenance and inspection of the vehicles provided by Sani Car Hires, which resulted in this dangerous situation and financial burden. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future, potentially endangering the lives of other customers.

I hope that by bringing this issue to your attention, appropriate action will be taken to address the negligence and ensure the safety of all customers who rely on Sani Car Hires for their transportation needs. I also look forward to a prompt resolution regarding the compensation for the expenses incurred due to this incident.
