Unfair Behaviour
Shocking. My son was in the school for literally one month. I must admit that the class teacher was amazing and she was new to the school. For sudden personal and financial reasons. I had to move my son to a regular public school. Sandton Junior school has a policy of withholding a R10500 non refundable fee which I of course did not expect back. What is sick is that they demand I pay them 6 months fees of R6000 plus R1700 for April 2019 till August 2019, even when my child is not in the school,. They were more than happy to receive my child in the middle of the term but claim I could only let my child leave the school in August 2019 and not March 2019 literally forcing me to stay in the school that did not work for my planning and financial pressure. Never have I seen one being forced to pay for something you don’t want, surely my non refundable R10500 for one month would cover something or at least explain to me what that money has been used for. Someone needs to investigate this Unfairness behavior to consumers who are desperate to keep kids in school; especially now when Grade 1 and 8 applications are in process. It’s hard to get a place in normal schools and we desperately run to private schooling who take advantage of the desperate parents. Notice is a term which is 4 months. Why do they want 6 months pay. And why should one pay additional R1700 for aftercare which requires a month notice which was served. The owner of the school is so shockingly demanding money with no service. It’s horrific. Someone needs to protect the consumer especially now during school applications.
