Shocking Service from Sandton Appliance Centre / Delonghi

I purchased a Delonghi Dolce Gusto coffee machine two years ago on a Black Friday special for R900 instead of R1800. I have not used the machine very frequently but save it for more special occasions. It would not switch on in August 2016 and I took it to Sandton Appliance Centre on Main Road, Bryanston for a quote to repair it. Apparently the mother board had to be replaced and I paid R1300 for the repairon 20 August - R400 more than I paid for the machine! I was given a 90 day warranty on the part. On 26 November, the machine basically "exploded" with smoke coming out of it and a strong electrical burning smell. I took it back to Sandton Appliance Centre today (28 November). They were not prepared to assist as the machine was out of the warranty period and told me that Delonghi would also not be prepared to assist. They explained that it might not be the mother board again but perhaps another fault. I asked them if they could open it up and check - they were not prepared to do so unless I paid a further R250 - I suggested that, under the circumstances, they have a look at the machine just to let me know what the problem was as the warrany had expired only a couple of days ago but they wouldn't assist unless I paid the R250.

I am very dissatisfied with their service and also question how an expensive part only lasts for 90 days and no more ?

I am one very unhappy customer.
