Lessors and Lessee should avoid them like the plague.

I'm not sure where to even start...the whole year feels like a bad dream. We encountered the Sandra Solomon Properties staff in Feb last year when we found an apartment in Lavender Lane, Paulshof. From the get go, our first dealing with both Andria Solomon and Sandra Solomon were **********. My girlfriend made the apparently unforgivable mistake of phoning the office, to ask for Andria's cellphone number, forgetting she had it in an email, to ask if we could get the keys as early as possible on our first day as we had to be out of our current apartment by 10am and wanted to be able to go and drop off our belongings in the new apartment. The phone call steadily deteriorated into a verbal assault, ending with the threat to "slap my girlfriend with a lawsuit so hard, she won't know what hit her." if we posted a bad review of the company. This was the day before we moved into the apartment, if we had a bit more time we would have cancelled and found somewhere else, but unfortunately this wasn't possible. Once we moved in the apartment, we found it in a despicable condition. The apartment had clearly not being cleaned in some time, despite Ian Solomon promising it would be clean when we moved in. (I've created a public folder to view the pictures: https://tinyurl.com/y6ejov4f) We also found a massive snag list of items needing maintenance work, after being rushed through the entry inspection by Andria. It took 2 months from when we first submitted the list (it was over Easter) to get people in to start the maintenance work. We were then accused of interfering with the workers, after my girlfriend had the audacity to ask them to keep all doors open while they worked, as there were 6 workers in the house, with only her while I was in a meeting, and we were worried about pilferage, as all our belongings were spread throughout the house. I received a call from Sandra Solomon herself, who suggested that my girlfriend sit in the lounge with all our belongings to feel better. I was also accused of being ******, for not trusting complete strangers with my belongings. 9 months later our contract was finally at an end. Unfortunately this meant dealing with Andria Solomon again. Andria, in my opinion based on my experience is petty and has no people s****s. She should not be working in a service field. She seems to labour under the delusion that Sandra Solomon Properties is doing their customers a favour by leasing to them. At the inspection, ee had some articles left in the house as the van was stuck in traffic from the previous trip. Unfortunately, as we were leaving Johannesburg the next morning we couldnt postpone the inspection. Andria came and after I explained the suituation, told me I should have called her as she had rushed to to be there for no reason. During the inspection, the delighful Andria pointed to the balustrade and said, "you know when you moved in you complained about dust?", apparently I was wrong to want to move into a clean, maintained apartment, for only R10000 a month. I had a cloth left over so I cleaned it immediately.

I write this review, knowing that even if the staff of Sandra Solomon Properties do read this, they will do nothing to change their attitudes. If they do read it, I sincerely hope they will realise that they are a service business and should treat their customers accordingly. I hope that I can spare someone else the misfortune of dealing with this company. Based on the stories that were told to me by other people in the complex, I don't thing my dealings were unique, or out of character, for the Solomons, however this review is based solely on my experience dealing with them and the opinion formed through those dealings.
