BRAND MERCEDES TORN APART

Took my R1.5M Mercedes 500 SL to Sandown Sandton for a routine service. Service advisor contacted me to say the two back tyres needed replacing. They could only fit Continentals, had no arrangement with other tyre manufacturers, I stupidly agreed. This car was delivered by Mercedes Germany with run flat tyres and on this model if it is delivered with run flat tyres there is no tyre/puncture kit delivered with the car. Guess what, Mercedes Sandton replaces the rear tyres with NON run flats, without my knowledge. A month later, my bad luck, I had a nail puncture my left rear tyre in Fourways gardens on my way to the office in Rivonia. I merrily drive on, the handbook mentions up to 50 k's an hour for no more than 80 k's. Get to Tiger Wheel and Tyre who inform me that the tyre is ruined as its NOT a run flat. I immediately fitted two Dunlop run flats and left the casings of the wrong tyres fitted at TWT for Sandown to collect. I asked Sandown for an apology and refund for the wrong tyres being fitted and its now a week and they are still investigating. The tyres at Sandown 30% more expensive than TWT as well !!!
