Tried To Donate Blood For The First Time

I was shocked when my daughter phoned me nearly in tears and explained how embarrassed she was because of the treatment she received from the mobile SANBS unit at her h/school in Wolmaransstad, North West.<br> <br> My daughter has a rare kidney disease namely Alport Syndrome. She informed the staff that she has this particular syndrome and that we checked with her specialist and dr. and that it is safe for her to donate blood. The SANBS member nearly shouted to the other staff member that this girl has Alport Disease and they must not take her blood.<br> <br> How can adults work with children in this manner?<br> My daughter is very private and none of her friends are aware that she has this syndrome. You can imagine how she felt when an adult nearly shouted that she has some kind of disease.<br> <br> Can you please make sure that the members who work with the kids take their privacy into consideration and realize that if they treat a child in this manner the first time they try to donate blood it might put them off of donating blood in the future.
