<p>My mom was admitted to hospital at St Augustus on 26/12/2016 about 11.00 where she went on a drip and they said she has bladder failure and being 89 years old she was weak and dehydrated as well. After that she was admitted to ICU for monitoring</p> <p>where they knew her chances where slim. She was not and medical aid so the cost we had to pay- kids. We paid the bills only to get one for 2 pints of blood at a shocking price of 18412.35 that they said they had given her without our knowledge as she died the following morning with kidneys and bladder not working.</p> <p>I really thought when one donates blood we are doing a good deed to help with blood so it can help the sickly only to find out this is a money making situation for them as they get the blood for nothing and the processing cannot be so high. What about the elderley and those that cannot afford it this price is pathetic you just there to make money and not help the sickly. I will never give blood again after this </p> <p>its just a *******.</p>
