Once you give you are forgotten

<p>After giving 200 unitsof blood I was invited to the awards dinner in Pietermaritzburg on 21 October. I flew down just for that, but because of severe weather we could not land and were eventually diverted to Durban. I arrived in PMB at 9 that evening, far too late for the dinner. Flew back to JHB on Sunday. Since then 4 phone calls to the Pietermaritzubrg Blood Donor Center to find out if a family member can collect my medal for me. Evert time told the person is not available but will call me back. He never does. E-mails to the head office from their website are ignored. When they want my blood they will SMS or phone and I react there and then. Other donor centers around the country actually do reply when you query something. Pietermaritzburg Donor Center will take your blood, then ignore you till the next donation is due. So much has changed ther in the last 20 years. I will continue to donte, but not in PMB.</p>
