Why should a technician replace a watch strap???

I saved and bought a Samsung Gear fit 2 pro, I absolutely love the product and would recommend it to anyone who needs a fitness device. BUT, My one strap is coming loose, it is simply the rubber of the strap coming loose from the mechanism that secures the strap to the watch. I phoned around and found that, if I want my strap replaced, I need to send the whole watch in to Samsung, so that a technician can "fit" a new strap. I am sorry, with the launch of these watches a HUGE deal was made about how easy the straps can be removed and replaced, only to find out that replacement of a original strap would cost me to the amount of R 800, thats almost half the cost of the actual watch. Come on, be reasonable, I simply want to buy an original strap and fit it, thats all. It is after sales service like this that will make me reconsider my loyalty to the Samsung brand. If my money is good enough at purchase stage, don't force me into a mold when it comes to the upkeep of my product.
