Watch water damage void warranty

I bought a black Samsung Galaxy Active smart watch off Takelot in November last year. A small part of the watch broke off on the back of it and water got into it. Phoned Samsung support and they sent me to a place to check it out and they gave me a quote that included water damage voiding the warranty. The entire quote came out to more than double what I bought the watch for. How can you even promise water resistant and that it can be used for recreational use if the moment it stops working it voids the warranty? Surely that is a form of false advertising.

Now I have to pay an assessment fee just to get my paperweight watch back? You would think at the very least you’d take some care for your customers and give them another solution such as a discounted watch because you know? We kinda spent an arm for this thing in the first place? I’ll happily be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
