Warranty claims turned down
I bought a samsung a31 dual sim from takealot in Dec 2020. The phone stopped charging after 11 months of use.
On 2nd Nov 2021 I took the phone to an accredited Samsung repair centre (fx cellular). The advised that the motherboard needs replacing. However, since I have a hairline crack on the screen the warranty is now void by Samsung and Will not be covered. The new motherboard Will cost about R3000. The warranty supposed to be valid for 24 months.
The screen crack cannot affect the charging of the phone. This I know because the phone worked normally for months until it stopped charging on the 29 Oct 2021. Also a simple Google shows that this issue of not charging is common on the Samsung a31 models.
Yet Samsung have found an excuse not to honour their warranty. I am paying for factory faults of the device in stead of the warranty. Deceiving clients on the warranty. A look on hellopeter also shows a large number of people complaining about the same charging issue, and voided warranty on different models.
