Updates not as frequently as advertised

I upgraded my galaxy S10 which reached end of support to a S22 to stay up to date with updates and security patches. A monthly security update was promised with their flagship series at the time for a few years. Just over a year in, and they've stopped updating the phone. Updates ceased in October 2023. I asked Samsung for an explanation, but they just said to wait. If a security update is marked as critical, why would I want a vulnerable phone?

Reviewer Update
I got a very generic reply indicating that the person responding doesn't really understand. My phone still remains vulnerable since it's missed the last 3 months worth of updates that Samsung has released in some regions, but have decided to not update South Africa.
