Treating Customers Fairly, not in this case!!
If I could give them NO Stars I would! I am so unbelievably shocked words are truly hard to find right now. I have been struggling with Samsung since 22nd April and the latest news is that Samsung refuse to take responsibility for a manufacturing fault. I purchased, on contract via Vodacom, the Samsung A21s for my son in January 2021, after only a few months the phone started to display pixel issues across the top of the screen, then when using the apps, the phone would automatically just switch off, this continued to get worse. After liaising with Vodacom first we were then instructed to deliver the phone to Samsung at V&A Waterfront, we were assisted by a very helpful, very thorough agent, Batchi Ghispain, who then said it will be sent off to the repair agents. We received no feedback for a week and eventually Batchi called to follow up on a quote. A quote that i only received for the first time yesterday 10th May. The Quote Batchi said was for R5300! and that it will not be covered under Warranty due to physical damage. The phone HAS no physical damage. After more follow ups from my side with Samsung complaints department, eventually Thabelo Moloi (not sure of spelling) called me and said he was the Complaints Manager. After a lengthy discussion at approximately 13.10 10th May, he confirmed over the phone that even though the phone has manufacturing faults and has NOTHING to do with a faint hairline scratch (which is not visible) at the bottom of the screen, Samsung will not cover the phone under Warranty. I would like a recording of our phone conversation to confirm what was said and that the fault is Samsung's and Samsung will not take responsibility for a faulty product. The quote consisted of a motherboard issue and various other problems with the phone, internally! Another issue is that the phone was inspected thoroughly by the booking agent at Samsung V&A and I have a signed booking form which confirms the following: Hairline scratch on the bottom of the screen. No Visual damage only the very faint scratch. When the quote came through from WeFix there are only two images of 'a' phone which doesn't look like our phone and has a terrible scratch over the camera lens and peeling on the front of the phone. Our phone was not in that condition and the booking form confirms this, with diagrams! This is complete and utter ******ion and I find this completely unacceptable. This was a birthday present and the phone has been kept and looked after with the utmost care, we bought all the expensive protective covers and have never mishandled the phone. The faults are internal and have been proved to be manufacturing issues. How can I be expected to pay for a product that does not work? If I bought sour milk or mouldy meat from Pick n Pay would they refuse to exchange it??? Obviously not, there would be no issue, they wouldn't respond saying, "you opened the package so no we wont exchange it." What world are we living in that a HUGE corporate company like Samsung refuse to take responsibility!
