Terms and conditions

Purchased a Samsung S4 in October 2013 on [URL Removed] and took it into Samsung to have the screen repaired today, they ask for proof of purchase, which we provide (Invoice off the site) and they will not accept as there is no IMEI number on the invoice.
The phone was registered via sms when received and they wont take that into account either. (Samsung)
I call Takealot and explain the situation and they say that they cannot help.
Whilst I have also taken this up with Takealot, I'm also disappointed that Samsung is not being more helpful. When the phone was taken in previously, they did not ask for any proof, etc. Apparently they did not need it as it was less than 2 years since it was manufactured.
Really frustrating, I wish they would let people know about all these loopholes so that they ensure that they have the correct type of paperwork when purchasing. Surely as a supplier to Takealot they should advise them that the IMEI number is imperative to include on the invoice?
