Software upgrade
I checked my Samsung Note2 to see if the software on the phone needed an upgrade. The phone said upgrade is available. I then proceeded as per the phone instruction to upgrade the software on my phone.
After that the phone never restarted.
I took the phone to a Samsung repair shop for fixing, but they quoted me R3100-00 to fix stuff that was working 100% before the upgrade.
I rejected the quote as there was nothing wrong with the phone before the Software upgrade, to now claim all the defects as per the Job report is ludicrous. THEIR SOFTWARE BROKE MY PHONE.
In terms of the Consumer protection act Section 61(1) Samsung supp**** unsafe goods and is liable for the damages.
I sent a complaint to Samsung's Services department (Ref no ***)
and they said I must contact Samsung ZAService which I did. (Ref no ***)
I requested feedback from them 4 times by e-mail. On two occasions they came back with their standard reply of how sorry they are and will look into the matter. After that they did not reply to my queries. It is almost two months now and nothing has happened. They seem to think that if they keep on ignoring the complaint it will go away.
Johannes Breytenbach
