Samsung Zflip3 and zflip4 durability and poor service
I have owned 3 zflips from December 2021 till now. 2 zflip3 and 1 zflip4 and they all gave me the same problem within the first 3 months of owning them.
In December 2021 I bought a zflip3 and within 3 months the screen protector stated peeling off, I took it to the Samsung service center in April 2022 for a screen protector replacement and when I got there the tech told me that the screen is damaged and it needs replacement, the phone was barely 4 months and it needed a major repair. I agreed to the screen replacement even though the phone was still within CPA. I spent a week without a cellphone.
In June 2022 I lost my zflip3 and my insurer replaced it. After having the replacement the screen protector started peeling off on the crease but I couldn't take the device in right there and then because I needed to make plans to be without a phone for days. In November 2022 I decided to take the phone in for the screen protector replacement and I took it to the Samsung repair center and to my surprise after assessment I was told that the screen on that device is also damaged and they had to replace it as well, I then told them that this time I am not willing to have a major repair done on a device that is less than 6 months, I then opted for an exchange. I was given a zflip4 as a replacement device in November 2022.I asked the service center how long is the warranty on the replacement device and they sent me an email stating that it has a 2 year warranty. The process of replacing my cellphone took me about 3 weeks until I could have the replacement device.
The screen protector zflip4 which was an exchange provided to me in November 2022 also started peeling off in January 2023 then on 13 March 2023 I took it in to the service center again, this time I wanted a refund because clearly the zflip screen is not manufactured to last 4 months, On Wednesday 15 March I received a call from Thandiwe who is VOC service agent who told me that a refund is not possible because the first phone I bought on contract and then she said they will exchange, on Thursday 16 march she calls me back telling me that they cannot exchange the device because the warranty on the original device carries over to the replacement device, I was surprised to learn that the warranty carries over because the service center sent me an email stating that the device has a 2 year warranty. How can a device that I have owned for 4 months require a major repair, this simply proves that Samsung is selling zflip phones with a weak screen that shouldn't last more than 4 months.
I have lost all confidence in Samsung products, How can a flagship device give me so much grief?
From the first day I took in my first zflip to the service center to today I have been without a phone for more than a month just because of a weak screen manufactured by Samsung.
