SAMSUNG - what a dissappointment

On 9 September 2012 we bought a Samsung 51 inch plasma. On 24 Decembe 2016 - it broke. Got Unitronics (Samsung Park Lane) to come have a look - their technician advised that the panel board had reached its "hours" and that a plasma screen tv must be serviced every 2 years (first we had ever heard of that). We contacted Tafelberg Furnishers - they advised that they had never heard of a tv having to be serviced. We then contacted Samsung - spoke to a Atish and Linda. Atish advised that they would give us depreciation discount on a new tv - we were given discount of approximately R3 000 to purchase another tv. If the TV cost say R2 000 we would not have minded it it had broken. BUT - a tv that cost us R10 000 4 years ago and only lasted 4 years - and now Samsung does not want to take responsibility - we DID NOT break the TV - all they say it is not in the warranty time - We are really very very upset as we USED to love Samsung products but after this incident - our thinking is just that how can they just wash their hands of f one of their products which was not a cheap product and only lasted 4 years
