Samsung TV's are Made Of Cheap Parts
I've purchased a Samsung TV in 2016 valued at R 15,000.00. Around June 2017 i had an issue whereby the TV was faulty. After engaging with Makro and Samsung for a few weeks Samsung and Makro confirmed that there is no way to fix the TV nor can they replace me with the same model. I was then given an opportunity for another model which i was not happy about as this TV seemed like a degrade after i done a comparison myself. After weeks of struggle i was finally given a voucher from Makro so that i can purchase something else in store.
I then purchased another TV from Makro on 08/07/2017 to the value of R 19,999.00 of which i had to add additional cash on top of the R 15,000.00 voucher which i received. I did not want to spare a cent knowing that in future i did not want to have any problems.
On 29/08/2017 i noticed that the back part of the TV started opening and that a light was coming out from the TV in the dark and no this was no ordinary light, this was a seperate light from the back of the TV. I logged a call directly with Samsung and a technician came to view the faulty device. Upon engaging with the manager (Luigi Pisapia and his work colleague) he confirmed that this product was faulty and this should be swapped out as this was part of the consumer protection act.
Finally Samsung contacted me advising me that they will replace my TV with a new unit as i was pleased. I then received my new unit in early September 2017.
It's been 3 months now, and i am really happy with the TV however i noticed that the back part of the TV started opening again now and it's only a matter of time before the light starts shining outside the TV.
I now ask you, if you spend R 20,000 on a TV and its half falling apart if you would be happy? If you purchased a car and the engine was falling out would you be happy?
I have logged another call and Samsung has sent the same technician to view my device and submit a report. He then advised me that the product is not faulty knowing previously the issue i had and it repeating itself.
I am a loyal Samsung consumer and only believe in Samsung having bought the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phone valued at R 18,000.00 including other Samsung products however i did not expect this quality of product from the TV division. This problem could be model specific or brand specific.
I want Samsung to replace my unit with a different TV of same value if not more or a cash refund so that i can buy another brand which will not let me down.
I think i may have just wasted R 20,000 on a piece of junk which is falling apart!!!
