Samsung TV Warranty Repair – A Ghost Story

Hello fellow shoppers,

Gather ’round for the saga of my 65″ Samsung TV—still under warranty, yet somehow already more broken than my faith in human decency.

It all started when the set decided to play peek-a-boo: it would switch itself on and off faster than a strobe light. I booked a warranty repair, and lo and behold, the TV was collected within two days—great start, right? Then… crickets. Not a single update for a whole week.

When I finally dug into the service order sheet, I noticed it was impressively minimalist: zero contact details. No email. No phone. Nothing. So I rang Makro (where I bought the TV), begged for Samsung’s number, and—after logging a progress report—the TV was magically returned the very same day. No diagnosis. No fix. Just my TV back, now with a mysterious white blotch in the top-right corner where the replacement panel obviously didn’t fit the frame.

Fast forward two weeks: after more calls than I care to count, I was finally put through to a self-styled “Service Centre Manager” named Yulon. He spoke with the confidence of a late-night infomercial host, promising a technician at my door within 48 hours and a follow-up call before 09h00 Wednesday with solid timelines. Wednesday came and went—no call from Yulon. Instead, another call-centre agent shrugs and informs me they “won’t fix it at your house anymore.” When I demanded to speak to Yulon? Promised a callback that… surprise, never materialized. Thursday: same tune. “No one’s available.” I offered to stay on the line all day; the agent hung up on me mid-sentence.

So here I am, with a half-atrophied TV that looks like a modern-art piece gone wrong, no room-service-style at-home repair, and Samsung’s customer-care equivalent of tumble**** rolling through a ghost town. If you value your time, sanity, or hard-earned rand, steer clear of Samsung’s “warranty” promises. Beware before you buy—Samsung service is the stuff of legend, but only in the “once upon a time” sense.

Samsung ZA – you’ve officially weaponized “follow-up” into the world’s most painful four-letter word.

It’s now 14:45 and still not a peep. At 10:24 you told me my case (Ref#: *** / ***) was escalated and promised a call by 14:00. Didn’t happen.

Here’s your stunning lineup of broken promises:

“We’re investigating” emails… delivered weekly, action… never.

“Escalations Department”—a mythical black hole where calls go to vanish.

Guaranteed callbacks (14:00, 12:00, 09:00, pick a time) that exist only on your calendar invites.

If “investigating” means “ghosting,” then congratulations—you’ve officially perfected it. Your customer-care strategy puts Tinder swipe-lefts to shame: you vanish the instant things get real.

Real service would look like this:

Pick up the damn phone.

Give me a direct line to someone who actually has the power to sort this mess.

Show up with the correct replacement panel (and the skills to install it).

Fix my TV under warranty—no more dead air, no more circular run-around.

Until you do, spare me the canned apologies and hollow assurances. You’re not just failing Samsung’s warranty promise—you’re single-handedly demolishing their reputation. Own it, or admit you can’t.
