Samsung South Africa lies about repairs and overcharges

My Samsung Gear S3 watch started to malfunction. Watch could not switch on, only while on charger it would switch on and back off again.

I took it to Samsung at The Grove Mall in Pretoria. Booked it in and had to pay R350 for the inspection of the watch. Next day I receive a quote of R2920.53 for a motherboard replacement and some cover... I rejected the quote as It did not make sense to me the the motherboard is broken.

Took my watch back home and swapped the battery with my wife's Gear S3 battery and it work straight away. Cost my 15 mins of my time and a precision tool kit. I will order a new battery from Amazon as I would never support Samsung South Africa again.

So before you take your Samsung item to them for repairs, check online if you could trace and repair the problem yourself.

Samsung South Africa is NOT trustworthy
