Samsung S7 phone Major Faults within 1 month

I have been an avid Samsung customer for both mobile and your appliances for years. However after my latest experience with the Samsung S7 phone which I got through my Vodacom contract I am extremely unhappy.

Even though my last Samsung s5 mini phone gave me a lot of issues, when my Vodacom contract was due for an upgrade I chose the Samsung S 7. Within one month of having the phone, the phone started having major issues.

The phone on a daily basis was overheating, freezing for up to one hour with no way to restart it rendering it useless, even though i didnt use my phone during the day when I was at work the phone's battery could not last even until 4pm, on days that I actually did use the phone throughout the day, the battery lasted even less.

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this phone! I sent the phone to Vodacom repair centre, they replaced the entire main board. I requested a new phone as I find it shocking that I have to continue paying for this expensive phone for 2 years at top dollar that is clearly a dud/faulty phone. However the Vodacom store manager said it is highly unlikely that they will issue me with a new phone. I therefore have too written a Hellopeter review to Vodacom as the phone was purchased through them and I have the contract with them .

Surely Samsung should also be accountable for creating products that are not up to standard? Surely you should be able to replace a phone that gives issues within a month? As the manufacturer of this phone I feel there is some liability for the poor quality product you produced? I am not certain if the major faults are due to Samsung only recently having built a phone that has a built in battery that could be causing these issues?

I still feel that it is highly unfair and against the consumer protection act for a product to suffer major faults and expect the consumer to accept this and not be issued a refund or a new product.

As mentioned I have logged a complaint against Vodacom and am hoping they will assist with issuing a new phone, but going on the feedback I received from their store manager that it is unlikely I would be issued a new phone. I would hope that this being your product and Brand, that you would want to assist and would hopefully want to upkeep the good standard of products you usually manufacture. Especially considering I have been a loyal Samsung supporter and Samsung conusmer for years.

Hi Samsung,

I just received a call from your call centre 'senior' customer service executive, who clearly was not provided with my detailed complaint. As she stated that I can only qualify for a new phone if my phone is still broken and can then get assessed by the Samsumng smart care centre, However in the above complaint cleary states that Vodacom replaced the entire main board.

She then continued to simply repeat herself 3 times, which to say the least is extremely frustrating.

I had thought that this complaint was being dealt with seriously, however the fact that the person that is dealing with it didnt even know all the facts tells me otherwise.

Thanks,
Tali
