Samsung S3 mini battery

I have a Samsung S3 mini on contract through Vodacom. I am upset with regards to the battery life that does not hold for more than a year before it packs up. The phone itself is good, but the battery is *******. My contract is due for an update and I will not be going back to Samsung. I want a phone where the battery will last.
