Samsung S3 Battery problem
Good Day
I purchased a brand new Samsung S3 on contract in December 2013 from Telkom Mobile in The Gateway shopping center.
In December 2014, the phone started to switch off randomly. I noticed that the back cover was bulging.
To my horror, the battery had swollen up considerably. I contacted Telkom, but they told me that the battery is not covered by any warranty. So I contacted the Samsung service Center in Nandi Drive. They told me the same thing. How can the battery be considered an accessory?? The phone cannot work without the battery!!
Now they tell me that I will have to replace the battery at my own cost!! This is totally unacceptable from a massive company like Samsung! Is this that way you treat loyal customers?????
Now, I still have another year to go on my contract but I am stuck with a phone that cannot be used unless it is plugged into a charger! I've researched this and a bulging battery can possibly explode, which will definitely cause serious injury to the user. I cannot understand how Samsung can sell a product that is literally dangerous to the well being of the consumer!
Mr Moodley
