Samsung Promo Fail

Samsung recently ran a promotion on it's appliances offering an amount of vouchers to be used on hotel accommodation etc with the purchase of any new appliance. My sister was getting married in December, and my wife and I specifically opted to purchase the Samsung washing machine as the promotion would serve as an added wedding gift. The promo guaranteed an amount of R4,000 in vouchers. I specifically asked the staff at Makro whether the promo could be used by my sister, even though I was purchasing the appliance. I was assured that it would not be a problem. Our aunt similarly opted for a Samsung dishwasher as a wedding gift (on the same assumption as me). However, on attempting to register for the promotion, my sister was advised that the names on the invoice do not match those of the person registering for the promotion. We both explained the situation in detail over e-mail ********** but the representatives (who hardly ever bothered to reply) only rep**** by stating that the names do not match, and therefore my sister cannot register for the promo. Neither I (as the purchaser of the washing machine), nor my aunt (as the purchaser of the dishwasher) have registered for the promo. It was supposed to be part and parcel of the wedding gift. We simply wanted to know how it would be possible to ensure that my sister received the benefit. Samsung either employs staff who are completely unwilling/unable to think outside the box, or they simply don't care about their customers unique concerns. Either way, I will NEVER fall for another Samsung "promotion" again, nor will I buy any more of their products.
