Samsung not adhering to Consumer Protection Act.

I took my Samsung Tab in for repairs at Samsung Somerset mall store. The Tab is still under warranty (with Mtn). I booked the Tab in with Melleny Ndakisa, with in 5 days I received a email with a ridiculous quote of R3399 (the Tab retails for less than R4000), I obviously rejected the quote and was told I need to pay a rejection fee of R171 which was never mentioned to me when I booked in the Tab.

I emailed back informing Melleny that I have no intention of paying a rejection fee that was never mentioned to me when booking in the device and that I want my device back.

She responded by apologizing for not informing me and said I will have to pay the rejection fee before I can get my device back.

I then responded by sending a screen shot of the CPA (Consumer protection act) and explained that shes at fault and from then (1st June) till now I haven't received a single email back. It has nearly been a month, my next question is whos going to pay my device installment with Mtn?

Im done with Samsung products if this is how you do dealings with your clients. Stay away from mega companies that do not adhere to the Consumer protection act.

My issue is still not resolved!
Who ever reads this, stay away from Samsung, the escalation department called me to say I still have to pay the rejection fee even though they admit that no one informed me about it, and the form (booking in form) doesn't indicate a rejection fee.

When I bring up the CPA (consumer protection act) the agent just goes quiet and then says unfortunately I have to pay the rejection fee even though I was never made aware of it.

I will be filing a complaint with the CPA and taking it further with the Ombudsman.

I say again stay away from companies that don't follow the CPA!!!
