Samsung Mobile SA worst after sale service

I have always, when upgrading on my cell contract, taken the flagship phone. I had no problems with their products until now. My Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is still within the 24 month warranty. End of January an update was pushed to the phone and as always I do the update. After this update the phone stopped finding any mobile network. I tried resetting the phone but it didn't work. I took the phone in to our local MTN store to send it away for repair, as it where in warranty. The people at the store was amazed at the fact that my device where in such good condition. It had a small scratch on the corner but they said that was nothing and sent it away marking the forms as "Good Condition". Few days later I receive a quote from the Samsung Service Centre in Cape Town for R16099 indicating that it was not a warranty repair because of "Drop damage/physical damage". I put a complaint in to Samsung Mobile SA and they just sent me a link to the Warranty statement and said they will not cover the repair. If you read this warranty statement it actually means that if you remove the phone from the box the warranty is void. "Normal wear and tear". On this I went to the Service Centre to pick up my device. With inspection of the device I found that the Centre added additional scratches to the device and the back cover was not even properly put back on the phone. This they redone and gave it to me at a cost of R150. So I took photos of all the damage that the Centre added to my device and sent it to Samsung Mobile SA twitter account. They then escalated it to their complaints department on which they then agree to cover the mainboard and battery but the additional cost of around R6700 I had to pay myself. They don't want to just replace the faulty part because it is their policy not to do partial repairs and quote "Samsung warranty team have authorized to have the main board and battery replaced at no cost to you out of goodwill gesture." The phone with the scratch on it was working 100% until the update was done. So in essence their update broke my phone but they are not willing to cover the cost to repair it and this all because of one small scratch. I now have a device that is not even halfway paid for on my contract but I cannot use it. There is no use paying R6700 to fix out of my pocket just to have it in warranty for about 6 more months. Samsung should stop promoting a Warranty that is not worth the paper it is printed on. I have no issue with the quality of their products but they have absolutely no after sales service. Just for that fact I will never willingly buy any Samsung products in South Africa again and I will never recommend their products to anyone again.
