Samsung J100 Mini

After six years of using a Huawei Y300 I decided to give Samsung a chance and bought myself a J1 Mini duel sim phone from Game at NI City. People started to complain that there is a very bad echo on the phone and due to this no one wants to phone me anymore as they can't hear me properly.

I have taken the phone in to Samsung at Tygervalley shopping centre where they have advised me that the phone needed to be booked in. After four days I was notified that my phone was ready for collection. Upon fetching the phone I was told that they had to replace the mother board and the phone is basically like a new phone. (Three months and already a new mother board!!!???)

Now after about a month and a half the phone is even worse than it was!

1) The screens colours are going all haywire and funny and when this happens the phone stuck completely and I have to remove the battery. (I have photos as proof)

2) Message alert tone goes off but there are no notifications.

3) The alarm only works now and again and now I have to use my old faithful Huawei Y300 to wake me up in the morning.

4) The echo has gotten worse as I can barely hear the person on the other end properly and they can't hear me.

Again I went to Tygervalley Shopping centre because as I feel this phone needs to be replaced with a new one as it was only purchased from Game on 25/06/2016. They have informed me again that I will need to book the phone in which I am not willing to do as I don’t want a phone that after five months is giving me endless problems and have to be repaired all the time.

I have contacted Samsung head office on 10/10/2016 @ 8:20 (reference number ********** 275) and spoke to Monday which took the time to listen to my complaint and escalated the log. I was informed that someone from Samsung will call me within 48 hours.

I have again taken the phone in to Canal Walk where with refrence number Q5SA064456 (01/11/2016) I have phoned this morning 07/11/2016 to follow up on my phone. I was told by Thenjiwe that they were waiting on the proof of purchase as it wasn’t clear enough.

Now my question after a week no call from Samsung to ask for a clearer copy or any type of feedback what so ever from Samsung. Why do I the customer have to follow up??? Also surely they can check on the same proof of purchase that was provided when the phone went in the first time!!!!!!!

Eventually Clint has phone me on 08/11/2016 to inform me that they will need the proof of purchase. Clint have tried from his side but the problem is lying at the branch in Montaque.

Today 11/11/2016 According to Clint a lady with the name of Theresa is working with my claim and Samsung doesn’t want to go ahead with the repair due to the date not being clear enough.

On 11/11/2016 I got a reference number ********** 434 - 011 ********** (Noeloendie) for an exchange unit.

I have received my NEW exchange unit but guess what, also an echo on the phone when someone phones me. I have again contacted Samsung where I refused to take the unit in and a courier was arranged to collect and deliver again.

I have again received my phone on 23/12/2016.According to them the dial pad was not working and this was also repaired. Now I would like to know. I haven’t wiped my phone after they have collected it and I have noticed when I got the phone back that my banking app was still working. Surely if any repairs were done this app would not have worked as they would have worked on the software.. I have spent a lot on money on data and again bought a new screen guard. (Second one)

Again an Samsung agent have called me this morning and he said he could hear clearly that the echo is still there and they will get in contact with me.

I now personally feel that Samsung can give me a new model exchange unit as from date of purchase 25/06/2016 till now the unit have been replaced twice and is still giving problems. I haven’t had any joy from this phone except for headaches. It have been in for repairs most of the time.

I will NEVER recommend a Samsung phones / other products to any of my colleagues, friends or family.
