Samsung is a con

Disgusted by my recent interaction with Samsung, got a new phone August 2018, it was glitchy almost straight away, wouldn't charge properly, kept telling me there was moisture in the port even though it had never been near water, apps would fail and I would have to uninstall/reinstall, and then eventually it died. I took it into to Samsung service store in Century City, it took weeks before we heard back from them, we had to call several times, they claimed they had emailed me a quote but when I asked what email address they didn't have one, so then they claimed they sms'd me a quote. When I asked how much to fix the phone I nearly fell off my chair - over R3000!! I asked about the warranty and they said because my phone had signs of wear and tear, because it looked like it was a 'dropped phone' the warranty was null and void. I tweeted this story and was contacted by a service person who followed up with the store and got them to call me, and all that happened was that I had the same useless conversation again. What a joke. And what a con.

Please don't contact me again, I've already had this conversation and it was a complete waste of time, all that happened was that he got the service centre to call me again and tell me again why they wouldn't honour the warranty, they even said that the normal wear and tear had nothing to do with the motherboard but that it null and voided the warranty. You are a complete con, please just start being honest with your customers - you're having problems with your motherboards, right?? But you can't say that because it would cost you a lot of money and your share price is falling isn't it?

So that was a complete waste of time, second time Samsung contacted me about the phone, and all that happened was that we had the same conversation as the first time - which was my expectation. What is the point of contacting your customers if you cannot solve the problem? This time I was told that the phone had had liquid damage - which wasn't mentioned the first time and my phone has NOT had liquid damage - and then they said there was a problem with the LCD, again wasn't mentioned before - AND they said this information was contained in the quote - WHAT QUOTE SAMSUNG??? As I explained in several conversations, I have never received a quote. They claimed to have emailed it to me yet they don't hold an email address? I mean, if you're going to lie then do it convincingly.

Samsung customers please note - the company is experiencing problems with the motherboards on certain handsets. If your phone has any sign of wear and tear it will null and void any warranty. The phone is unusable so you will be left with a large bill and no phone. IT IS A ****.

WORST BIG BRAND EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME.
