SAMSUNG go ***** yourself. I've moved brands!
I bought a samusung 3D LED SMART 46” tv (1st tv) on 20 Dec 2013 at Dion Wired, with its 2 year warranty. On 26 Dec 2015 (6 DAYS OUTSIDE OF ITS SAMSUNG WARRANTY) , the above tv failed. The screen became black at the bottom.
I took it to an authorised Samsung repairer in Parow (Liptronics) who told me the screen needs to be replaced – which will cost the same as the tv itself. For a second opinion, I took the same broken tv to Montague Gardens (Unitronics). They told me the same thing.
Once I had the report, I spoke to Samsung, who sent me from pillar to post, without any real solution/suggestions or offers. For almost a month f begging for Samsung to reconsider replacing the tv or repairing it, even at a faction of the cost to me, Samsung outright refused to budge or give some sort of reasoning or consolation. I suppose this is just what a customer is treated like by Samsung. But I didn’t learn my lesson.
I had the (1st) tv replaced under my insurance, even though it was a “self-fault or failure” from within the Samsung brand itself. I got a samusung (2nd tv) 3D LED SMART 48” tv (2 inches larger as there was no direct replacement) . It was purchased from tafelberg furn. (Bellville). I purchased an additional 2 year extended warranty carried by tafelberg furnitures.
This new samsung (2nd) tv was problematic from the moment I switched it on. It had blurred lines across the center of the screen. Tafelberg replaced it with a new Samsung 48” (3rd) tv (same model & size).
2 years later (Dec 2018), the samsung factory warranty had expired. In May 2018, 5 months into the tafelberg’s 2 year extended warranty, the Samsung (3rd) tv broke. This time the screen became dull and vague. Tafelberg told me the tv needs a new LED screen which will cost the same as a new tv.
Tafelberg offered a new replacement tv (Samsung - 4th tv), but I immediately rejected the (4th) Samsung brand and opted for a Panasonic UHD tv which comes with a 4 year manufacturer’s warranty.
So Samsung, you can take your ****ty brand, yourr ****ty tv's, you can take your ****ty customer services, you can take your unsustaining technological ideas and go ***** yourself with it. Makes me wonder why you (Samsung) only give 2 a year warranty when your product is supposed to be believed in and considered superior over others. Clearly you samsung do not believe in your own product, but you expect others to.
You can have all the “best” technology fitted in a product, but if your product keeps failing / breaking just outside of the 2 year warranty, you (samsung) are then not really selling a quality product, but a good idea. Well I am done falling for your cheap-ass tricks & gimmicks. I’m f****ing your product brand out of my house one by one, until I have no ******* left, but other quality brands.
Panasonic, here I come! At least Panasonic stands by their 100 year brand and offers 4 years manufacturer’s warranty.
