Samsung gear charging pins broken

I bought a Samsung Gear watch and during the last week of its one year warranty I found that it was not charging. I took it to the Samsung store at Riverhorse Valley. I received an email stating that they the watch cannot be replaced under warranty due to the charging contacts being damaged and one is missing due to physical damage. The assessment done on my watch was inconclusive as the technician did not even bother to open the watch to check the condition of the components inside the watch. The marks on the charging pin could be the result of arcing which occurs when there is a loose contact between the charging bracket and the charging pins. Please note that I am not looking to fight with a huge Corporation like Samsung as they have taken a stand and are not prepared to listen to reason however I am asking if you could help by putting this warning out there for prospective customers who are considering buying a Samsung gear, they are to be made aware that the clipping mechanism breaks they are liable. this link shows other watch owners with the same issues.
