Samsung Galaxy - Stay away!!

The worst ever. I am so disappointed that I switched from iPhone to Samsung. All my life I just hard reset my phones if I forgot my password. Recently I ordered Galaxy A12 from dealer in Jhb as I am in a small town. I switched it on to test it on delivery and put away for once my iPhone battery gives in completely. It did happen and when I wanted to use the Galaxy I forgot password. I paid for the phone and forwarded proof of payment to get my phone unlocked. They told me I must send it in to get unlocked. I explained to them that I can;t afford the courier and insurance. They just kept saying the same thing over and over. I am very sorry but nowhere on the package or was I warned that I won't be able to access again if I hard reset it. I also asked them what right they have to lock my phone, which I have paid for, without permission and they continuously rep**** with the same message. Unacceptable that I now have no decent phone now when a brand new phone that I have purchased is just laying here. The worst support ever but they have money to dish out for trade-ins and yet, they can;t collect the phone, reset it and send it back to me. Pathetic!!

I just want to add that if I was made aware of this FRP I would not have reset the phone. There was no warning on the packaging or phone. I only became aware of this when I searched the internet to find out what was happening. There are 3rd party software packages that can remove the lock, but again. I must pay for it. Why can't Samsung supply a solution remotely when one has proof of purchase? I am not being unreasonable as I understand what they are trying to achieve, but I have seen hundreds of complaints about this from other users. One is held ransom: either fork out more money or you won't be able to use the phone.
